The Twelfth Information Technology &Telecommunications (IT&T) Conference (www.ittconference.ie)
"Small Devices, Big Data, Real Challenges"
Athlone Institute of Technology, Ireland
9th - 10th May 2013
The increasing importance of the digital society which is driven by consumer demand for pervasive and mobile computing is challenging traditional networking techniques. The explosion of IP enabled devices and associated bandwidth intensive applications, generate massive volumes of diverse, complex, and distributed data. Combining this increased demand with
the heterogeneity of capability of underlying infrastructure requires a re-evaluation of knowledge, approaches and practices.
The IT&T conference provides postgraduate researchers with an early opportunity to engage with practitioners from academia and industry working in the areas of Information Technology and Telecommunications. Ireland has a strong research base in this area and the conference proposes to create a forum for researchers to present their latest results, discuss ideas and demonstrate applications. A particular motivation for this year’s conference is to facilitate discussion
between researchers, industry and third level institutions working to address the challenges of Big Data.
The conference organisers are interested in receiving contributions on a broad range of research themes that are of relevance to the conference main theme. Relevant topics include but are not limited to:
- Wireless and mobile networks/Heterogeneous networking
- Data analytics/Data Management/Data Warehousing
- Sensor networks and embedded systems
